Mets Top Royals in the Rain (May 22)

The Mahoney's Garden Center Mets topped the Rivals Baseball Royals in the rain Monday night by a score of 11-4.

With the game tied at 4 after 4 innings and the rain starting to become a factor, the Mets bats came alive with 5 hits, highlighted by a bases clearing drive by Jake Tempesta that put the Mets up 11-4. Owen Finnerty pitched the final two innings and struck out 5 and picked up the win.

Royals hitting stars were Joe Dalton who had long double, Chris Russo (run) who also doubled, and Conner Mackey (run) who had a line drive single. Corrado Dama and Sam Wilson also scored runs for the Royals.

The Mets were led offensively by red-hot Liam Elder (double, single, run), Ben Wallace (single, 2 runs) and Sauget Khanal (2 hits, 2 runs), while Sandro Marignoli and Evan Cullinan played strong defense.
