Mets rally to defeat the Angels (April 30)

The Mahoneys Garden Center Mets topped the Winchester Orthodontics Angels 13-8 at Nutile Field on Sunday April 30th. The Angels jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first on run scoring hits by Paul Galvin and Grady Gaul. The Angels increased their lead to 5 in the top half of the 2nd but the Mets battled back to tie in the bottle half of the inning. Alan He and Sandro Marignoli started the rally with hard hit singles and a fielder's choice by Jai Handa put the Mets on the board. After a walk loaded the bases, Saugat Khanal immediately cleared them with a double to right. The Mets added 3 more in the 3rd on singles by Marignoli and Khanal. A 4-run 5th inning helped put the Mets ahead for good. The big hit was a two run double by Alec Wilcken. The Angels attempted to rally in the 6th when Aiden Emerick and Seamus Andrews launched bombs over the outfielders heads, but P Wilcken settled down to get out of the jam. Wilcken picked up the W with 4 innings of work and only giving up 3 runs while striking out 7. Starter Evan Cullinan had 5 strikeouts in his two innings of work. Eckton Manan and Grady Gaul pitched well for the Angels.
