Marlins pitching quiets A’s bats! (May 29)
The Main Street Citgo Marlins pitching combination of Milo Schut and Chris Power was able to keep the New England OB/GYN Athletics bats from heating up on a rainy Memorial Day afternoon. Schut started the game and went two innings allowing 2 runs and striking out six. Power entered the game to start the third and pitched four innings allowing just 1 run and striking out seven. The A’s countered with starting pitcher Tommy Lampert and relief pitchers Will Fuller and Josh Lacey.
The A’s got 2 runs in the top of the first with Dante Zermani and Lampert scoring. The Marlins countered with 2 run of their own in the bottom of the first with Mark Price (single) and Power (single) scoring on a double by Charlie Badger. The score remained tied until the bottom of the fourth with Badger,Schut, Michael Nigro , and Matthew Hu all reaching home. The A’s would add 1 more run in the top of the sixth but the Marlind pitching and defense proved to be too much and the A’s would fall short on their comeback losing by a final score of 6-3.
