A's Top Diamondbacks 4-2 (May 11)
The Diamondbacks started the scoring in the top of the first. James O'Brien (2-2 with 2 runs scored) led off with a single, and later came around to score on a fielder's choice RBI by Jackson Pagan.
The A's answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame, on a lead-off single by AJ Muse (1-3), and a solid single to center by Tommy Lampert (2-3, 2 RBI). After holding the D-Backs scoreless in the second and third innings, the A's pushed across two more runs in the bottom of the third, on a walk by Carson Muse, a double by Lampert, and a double by Josh Lacey.
After the D-Backs cut the lead to 3-2, keyed by a solid single to left by O'Brien and some crafty base running, the A's added an insurance run in the fifth, with Sam Kritzman scoring on an RBI single by Luke Travaglini.
The A's got strong pitching performances by the Muse brothers, with AJ notching four innings of 3-hit ball, and Carson closing the door with two shutout innings. The D-Backs pitching tandem of Kenzo Valentin and Ethan Rich were effective as well, holding the A's bats to six hits on the night.
Defensive standouts were A's second baseman Connor Pandolph and D-Backs shortstop Logan Li. Other hitting standouts were Will Fuller (1-2 for the A's) and Jeff Nace (1-2 for the D-Backs).
