Cardinals, A's battle to last out (April 28)
The Tri State Fire Protection Cardinals and the New England OB/GYN A's prime time Friday night game was a nail biter. The Cardinals came ready to hit in the first with Anton Crawford and Nick Hart-Nibbrig leading off with singles. Paddy Galvin drove them in with a big double. Ellix Sandhu added a double to drive in a third run for the red birds. The A's wouldn't be outdone and put up five runs in the bottom of the first with big hits from AJ Muse, Dante Zermani, Tommy Lampert, Antonio Zermani, and Austin Curtis. The pitchers on both sides shut down the bats for the next four innings with Hart-Nibbrig, Jack Baker, and Crawford hurling for the Cards and Josh Lacey and Luke Travaglini for the A's. Defense shined with spectacular short stop plays by the A's Dante Zermani and the Cards Tobei Nakajima. With the score still 5-3 and two outs in the top of the 6th, the Cards started their comeback. Quinn Falvey reached base followed by a Crawford single and a Hart-Nibbrig double to tie the game. Still with two outs, Nakajima and Galvin reached base and later scored as Jack Duncan and Aidan Falvey added RBI hits. Nakajima shut down the A's in the bottom of the 6th to lock in the Cardinals 9-5 victory.
